Postdoctoral Researcher - Forest Management and Economics

The Chair of Forest Resources Management at ETH Zurich is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join their dynamic team. The company is involved in research and teaching, focusing on understanding, monitoring, and managing forests. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, the main day-to-day responsibilities will include developing research ideas, acquiring and analyzing data, preparing scientific manuscripts, and presenting work at conferences. Additionally, the role involves contributing to teaching, supervising student projects, and supporting the organization of workshops and events. To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a PhD in forestry, forest sciences, forest economics, or a related field, with solid knowledge about forests. They should have experience in developing research ideas, analyzing data, and communicating results to different audiences. Very good English skills are required, and German skills are an asset. The ideal candidate will have experience in university teaching, thesis supervision, and course development, and will be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary team. The role is based at ETH Zurich, with an initial contract of 3 years and the possibility of extension up to 6 years.
