Senior Mechanical Engineer – Equipment & Package Systems

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Equipment & Package Systems you will be part of the team that converts waste‑derived concepts into tangible plant assets. Your daily work will involve steering the engineering and delivery of key equipment like heat exchangers, silos, stacks and chemical supply systems. You will draft technical specifications and request‑for‑quotation packages, assess supplier proposals, run clarification sessions and aid in choosing vendors. The role also requires coordinating concept and basic engineering tasks, making sure that project needs, interface points and overall plant integration are properly addressed. You will manage cross‑disciplinary links with process, layout, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, construction, commissioning groups and external suppliers, supervise supplier engineering actions, track procurement and documentation progress, and resolve technical challenges. Supporting factory acceptance tests, overseeing installation and commissioning, and handling supplier non‑conformities on site are also part of the remit, with about ten to twenty percent travel for international project support. The position demands a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field from a recognized institution, together with a minimum of five years’ experience in international plant engineering, EPC projects, power generation or the process sector. Proven expertise in the engineering, procurement and execution of complex mechanical equipment and package systems is essential, as is hands‑on knowledge of industrial heat exchangers; familiarity with stacks, silos or chemical supply equipment is a plus. You must be comfortable reading P&IDs, possess strong coordination, negotiation and communication abilities, work in a structured and proactive manner, and be fluent in English with solid MS Office skills. Additional assets include familiarity with COMOS, AutoCAD, KKS or the German language.
