Global Head of Tax

Gunvor, a worldwide commodity‑trading group, is looking for a Global Head of Tax to shape and deliver its tax agenda across all markets. The senior leader will act as the chief tax adviser to the executive team, ensuring that tax considerations are woven into the company’s strategic choices while upholding the highest standards of integrity and regulatory compliance. In this position the incumbent will steer the global tax function, directing everything from corporate and international tax matters to transfer‑pricing policy, indirect taxes and tax accounting under IFRS. Daily duties include crafting the group’s tax strategy, supervising compliance filings, managing audits and disputes, and providing proactive advice on acquisitions, financing, restructurings and new market entries. The role also oversees the modernization of tax processes, championing automation, ERP‑integrated solutions and data‑driven reporting to create a scalable, technology‑enabled function. The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in tax law, economics, accounting, finance or a related discipline and preferably a professional tax credential such as CTA, CPA or ACA. At least fifteen years of international tax experience are required, with a background in complex, multinational environments such as commodity trading, energy, shipping or financial services, and proven responsibility for a global tax organization. Expertise must cover transfer pricing, corporate tax, indirect tax, IFRS tax reporting, BEPS and Pillar Two rules, and ERP platforms like Oracle or SAP. Strong analytical, project‑management and stakeholder‑engagement skills, together with a commercial mindset and the ability to lead change across cultures, are essential. Experience driving tax‑technology transformation and a track record of building high‑performing global teams are valued assets.
