Avionics & Electrical Engineer

The position of Avionics & Electrical Engineer sits at the core of Destinus’s work on an exo‑atmospheric interceptor for the Bliksem Exo European consortium, a programme that delivers an affordable, mass‑produced anti‑ballistic missile system while also advancing cutting‑edge UAV technologies for defence customers worldwide. In this role you will be accountable for the complete avionics layout, from the flight computer and power subsystem to the broader electrical architecture, always keeping within prescribed mass, volume and power limits. You will either design or source the flight electronics, then integrate sensors, navigation, propulsion and control hardware into a unified system, define the power budget and the electrical links between vehicle subsystems, ground support and launch gear, and lead integration, interface, environmental and qualification testing while interpreting the results against the required specifications. Close collaboration with guidance‑navigation‑control, mechanical, propulsion and software groups will be essential to resolve interface issues and achieve vehicle‑level integration. The ideal candidate is a practical engineer with a BSc, MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline, and at least ten years of experience creating and integrating avionics or flight electronics for missiles, spacecraft, aircraft or comparable platforms. Proven hands‑on work with flight computers and power‑system hardware throughout design, procurement, integration and testing, as well as solid experience assembling sensors, actuators and other subsystems into a complete vehicle, is required. A deep understanding of electrical interfaces and the constraints of mass, volume and power is also mandatory. Additional assets include familiarity with embedded software or tight hardware‑software coupling, exposure to environmental and EMC qualification processes, and experience designing electronics that must survive long‑term storage or canister‑life conditions
