Trafigura is looking for a hands‑on Business Architect to shape the functional architecture of its Metals, Minerals & Bulk CTRM platform. As a leading independent commodities group, Trafigura builds and operates world‑class IT solutions that support its global trading operations across metals, oil, gas, power and renewables. In this role you will turn business objectives into a clear functional architecture that aligns IT and business teams. You will steer strategic decisions such as build‑versus‑buy, craft roadmaps that balance long‑term vision with immediate needs, and manage the complexity of cross‑functional trade‑offs between global standards and local market requirements. You will support delivery teams, ensure architectural consistency throughout implementation, guide the evolution of functional landscapes and data models, and partner with technical leads to keep the technical architecture in sync with business goals. Leadership of a team of architects, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement across the IT organisation, is also a core part of the job. The position requires at least ten years of experience as a business analyst or architect, and three years of people‑management experience in a fast‑paced, high‑performance setting. Candidates must possess deep knowledge of the end‑to‑end physical commodity trade lifecycle and a solid understanding of enterprise‑architecture frameworks, modular design and API‑led integration. A proven track record of delivering large‑scale applications in global teams is essential, as is the ability to translate business goals into actionable technical plans, resolve complex conflicts and make balanced decisions. Independent planning, a proactive work style, comfort in a flat matrix environment and fluency in English are also mandatory. Experience with a variety of CTRM systems is valued, as are personal attributes that support success in this fast‑moving context. A delivery‑focused, can‑do attitude, clear and engaging communication, willingness to own decisions quickly, and a collaborative, inclusive mindset are all seen as advantageous. The role sits within Trafigura’s Trading IT group, reporting to the Global Head of M&M and Bulk Technology, and offers the chance to influence a global programme that underpins the company’s growth and sustainability agenda. What the role asks for: - 10+ years business analyst/architect experience - 3+ years people management in fast‑paced environment - Deep commodity trading domain knowledge (physical trade lifecycle) - Strong grasp of enterprise architecture principles and modular/API integration - Proven delivery of large‑scale applications in global teams - Translate business goals into actionable technical plans - Resolve complex conflicts and balance short‑term/long‑term needs - Independent planning and proactive execution - Comfortable in flat, matrix management structures - Fluent English - Experience with various CTRM systems (nice-to-have) - Delivery focus with can‑do attitude (nice-to-have) - Clear, engaging communication skills (nice-to-have) - Ownership of decisions in fast‑paced settings (nice-to-have) - Collaborative and inclusive mindset (nice-to-have)
