General Counsel - Remote

The part‑time General Counsel role is a remote contract position supporting a forward‑thinking legal AI venture. The firm is developing artificial‑intelligence tools that assist with contract work, and it needs a seasoned attorney to guide the legal aspects of the project. Day‑to‑day duties involve conducting mock contract negotiations, drafting and revising agreements such as master service contracts, confidentiality accords, data‑processing arrangements and other technology‑focused documents. The counsel will assess AI‑generated answers to contractual scenarios, judge their legal soundness, spot potential hazards and supply concrete suggestions for improvement. Building assessment rubrics, creating grading standards for AI tasks, and working closely with product and research groups to refine legal workflows are also central to the job. All analyses and recommendations must be recorded clearly and consistently. Applicants must bring at least three years of experience inside a corporate legal department handling technology transactions, with hands‑on practice in drafting, reviewing and negotiating the types of agreements mentioned above. The ideal candidate demonstrates sharp analytical thinking, strong written and spoken communication, meticulous precision, and the ability to turn legal insight into actionable guidance for non‑legal teammates. Comfort in a rapid, cross‑functional environment and a genuine interest in the blend of law, technology and AI are essential. Prior exposure to legal‑AI systems, experience designing evaluation frameworks, or a background in fast‑growing tech companies are considered advantageous.
