Sustainability Engineer

At PMI we are driving a smoke‑free future, and our Neuchâtel factory needs a Sustainability Engineer to help embed robust Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programmes that match our sustainability strategy, safeguard the workplace and protect product quality. In this position you will design and deliver training that raises compliance and cuts HS&E incidents, spot improvement opportunities and implement actions that adjust systems and processes, and build and maintain relationships with all stakeholder groups affected by the site's environmental performance. You will also develop and oversee comprehensive EHS training plans, ensure they meet internal and external requirements, and conduct research on climate change, biodiversity and water stewardship to feed corporate sustainability initiatives. Monitoring macro trends and exploring alternative data sources to identify risks and opportunities will be part of your routine. The role requires a university degree in Engineering, safety, environmental, chemical, process, EH&S or a related discipline, and proven experience or qualifications linked to MSST/ASA, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001. Prior work in a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment is essential. You must be skilled in risk‑management assessments, health‑safety‑environment compliance, incident investigation, stakeholder influencing and overall sustainability expertise.
