Roche is seeking an Operations Portfolio Lead for its Blood Gas & Electrolyte (BGE) portfolio. The position sits within the Operations Product Portfolio Management (OPPM) function of Diagnostics Global Operations, where the team steers the global operations product portfolio through every phase of its life‑cycle. As the lead for the BGE portfolio, you will act as the primary Global Operations voice in the Life Cycle Team, translating strategic business goals into operational priorities and ensuring a reliable, cost‑effective supply chain. On a daily basis you will shape a 5‑to‑10‑year product roadmap that aligns with Customer Area, Life Cycle Team and Diagnostics Operations strategies. You will keep a close eye on demand‑supply balances, lead cross‑functional squads to resolve supply disruptions, and drive product‑care and process‑improvement initiatives that lower standard manufacturing costs while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance. The role also requires you to manage a broad stakeholder network, including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, sites and other Operations functions, facilitate conflict resolution, and allocate resources and budgets according to a Total Cost of Ownership approach. Providing indirect, functional matrix leadership to senior specialists and expert teams across a global ecosystem is a core part of the job. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technical or business discipline such as Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration. An advanced degree (MSc, MBA or PhD) is viewed favorably. You must bring at least eight years of experience in diagnostics, pharmaceuticals or biotech, with a solid grasp of Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality & Regulatory frameworks in a global matrix environment. Five years of proven leadership in a worldwide setting, delivering indirect matrix leadership without direct headcount responsibility, is required, as is extensive experience in operational excellence, M&A or portfolio integration, portfolio road‑mapping and product life‑cycle management. While the posting does not detail specific location benefits, the role is global and operates within Roche's inclusive culture that values personal expression, open dialogue and psychological safety. The position offers the chance to influence senior leadership, shape long‑term strategy in a high‑ambiguity setting, and foster a collaborative, customer‑focused work environment. What the role asks for: - Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific, technical or business field - Minimum 8 years experience in diagnostics, pharma or biotech - 5 years leadership experience in a global matrix setting - Proven expertise in Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality & Regulatory - Track record of operational excellence, M&A or portfolio integration - Experience creating portfolio roadmaps and managing product life‑cycle - Advanced degree (MSc, MBA or PhD) preferred (nice‑to‑have)
