QRT, a worldwide quantitative and systematic investment manager, applies a scientific, data‑driven approach across all liquid asset classes. Within its Commodities Front Office Quantitative Development group, the senior quantitative developer will enhance the technology stack that supports the Agriculture business, collaborating closely with researchers and traders worldwide. The day‑to‑day work involves designing, building and maintaining cloud‑native applications for commodities research and trading. You will create full‑stack analytical tools that combine Python back‑end services with React/TypeScript front ends, develop data pipelines, back‑testing frameworks, optimisers and APIs, and integrate diverse market, weather, geospatial and remote‑sensing datasets. The role also requires ensuring data quality, reproducibility and point‑in‑time correctness while helping researchers move experimental code into reliable production systems. Candidates must bring at least five years of professional software development experience, with deep expertise in Python and strong fundamentals in software engineering and system design. Proficiency with numerical libraries such as NumPy, pandas, Polars and xarray, as well as experience delivering production‑grade Python services, APIs and data pipelines, is essential. The position also demands solid skills in React, TypeScript, SQL and relational databases, familiarity with large scientific data formats (e.g., GeoPandas, rasterio, NetCDF, Parquet) and the ability to scale workloads using tools like Dask, Ray or Spark. Hands‑on AWS experience, including Infrastructure‑as‑Code, containers and CI/CD, together with a quantitative mindset and rigorous testing practices, are required. Additional assets include front‑office trading or quantitative‑finance exposure, especially in agricultural commodities, experience with Airflow‑type orchestration, advanced AWS architecture knowledge and familiarity with machine‑learning infrastructure. QRT promotes an inclusive culture, offers programs to support work‑life balance, and encourages collaboration across its global, multi‑location teams.
