R&D Engineer

Tobii Dynavox creates assistive communication technology that lets people with disabilities express themselves and gain independence. Within its Acapela Group, which focuses on authentic, expressive voice solutions, the company is looking for a Deep Learning R&D Engineer to join the research team in Mons, Belgium. In this position you will build and fine‑tune speech modules that rely on the latest deep‑learning methods. You will design, test and roll out speech‑processing components for a variety of products, ensuring that every deliverable meets high quality standards. Your work will be guided by focused research goals and you will work closely with an international, cross‑site group of experts on high‑impact projects such as the My‑Own‑Voice initiative. The role requires a solid foundation in statistical modelling and modern deep‑learning techniques. You must be highly proficient in Python and comfortable with common deep‑learning frameworks or libraries. Prior experience in any area of speech processing, whether synthesis, recognition, or natural‑language understanding, is essential, as is a good working knowledge of Linux or Windows environments. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who takes ownership of their work and can communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional assets include strong C/C++ programming skills.
