Senior C/C++ Low Latency Engineer

Mathrix is seeking a senior C/C++ engineer to join its compact Technology team, where the focus is on delivering ultra‑fast automated trading across global exchanges. The company’s success hinges on the speed of its data‑processing pipelines, and the role offers considerable responsibility and autonomy within a flat‑hierarchy environment. In this position you will design, implement, test, monitor and sustain large‑scale parallel applications and databases that drive the trading system. Typical tasks include crafting low‑latency networking modules for rapid exchange communication, creating context‑switch‑free code, building lightweight custom storage structures, developing streaming data pipelines, and writing complex decision‑engine logic that runs in the smallest possible compute time. You will also re‑engineer existing components using advanced CPU features such as SIMD, and collaborate on the global hardware infrastructure, network layout and data‑logging pipelines that support traders and quant analysts. The role requires deep expertise in C and C++ on Linux, the ability to read and verify the assembly output of the compiler, and solid knowledge of GNU/Linux system calls and their performance impact. You must understand x64 hardware intricacies, select or implement storage structures based on time‑complexity considerations, and be proficient with debuggers, profilers, Git and documentation practices. A proactive, self‑starting attitude, honesty, flexibility and resilience under pressure are essential. Additional advantages include experience in low‑latency network engineering or Big Data engineering and best‑practice implementations. Mathrix offers a competitive salary with a discretionary bonus, 25 vacation days, regular team outings, Friday drinks, annual office trips, weekly massages and a monthly meal allowance, all within a fun and inspiring work setting alongside seasoned colleagues.
