Aerospace Structural Engineer

DMD Solutions is a consultancy that specializes in aerospace design and RAMS engineering, providing outsourced projects and developing engineering tools for European aircraft manufacturers and maintainers. The firm is expanding and seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to work directly at a client site in Switzerland, contributing to certification‑focused initiatives. In this role you will generate and validate proposals for structural deviations on aircraft, supporting them with traditional calculations and existing finite‑element models. You will also review technical memoranda, certification reports, production directives and acceptance criteria, and authorize changes to drawings and parts lists linked to corrective actions, structural modifications, or enhancements. Core activities include static stress and finite‑element analysis of mainly metallic, occasionally composite, airframe components for both development and certification contexts, preparation of formal analysis documentation, involvement in test planning and reporting, and providing analytical assistance across functions while coordinating with suppliers and airworthiness authorities. The position requires a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering focused on aircraft structures or an equivalent qualification, together with at least eight years of experience handling primary and secondary structures in the aerospace field. Candidates must be proficient in manual calculation techniques, familiar with standard industry references, and skilled in using NASTRAN (MSC/NX), FEMAP or comparable finite‑element software. Experience with composite analysis is advantageous, as is the ability to work flexibly under tight schedules and shifting priorities; knowledge of German is a plus.
