Senior Hospitalist Clinical Reviewer - Remote

The Senior Hospitalist Clinical Reviewer will join a contractor‑based, fully remote team that drives a large‑scale initiative aimed at improving inpatient clinical quality, ensuring precise documentation, and conducting thorough medical reviews. The organization focuses on applying hospitalist expertise to elevate care standards and support rigorous audit processes for health‑care providers. In day‑to‑day work the reviewer examines hospital admissions, checks that care delivered meets accepted quality benchmarks, and verifies that the accompanying records are complete and accurate. Complex or unclear cases are flagged, and concise, well‑reasoned commentary is supplied to explain each assessment. The role also involves spotting gaps or inconsistencies in documentation, applying current clinical guidelines, and helping to refine the review protocols used by the project. The position requires a medical doctorate (MD or DO) and at least ten years of experience as an attending hospitalist. Candidates must have a solid background in inpatient medicine and proven involvement with quality‑improvement activities, documentation audits, and medical auditing. Strong clinical judgment, excellent written and spoken communication, and meticulous attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work autonomously from a remote setting. Additional experience that would be advantageous includes participation in hospital‑wide quality‑improvement programs, familiarity with clinical documentation improvement initiatives, and exposure to coding, utilization review, or physician‑audit workflows. Prior involvement in developing quality standards or mentoring peers is also valued.
