The role of a Senior Power Electronics Engineer is crucial for the development of power electronics, which are essential for the performance and reliability of their unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The main responsibilities of the Senior Power Electronics Engineer include leading the design and development of power stage architectures, such as motor controllers and DC-DC topologies, across various UXV platforms. This involves translating mission constraints into power-chain specifications, designing analog switching, and conducting multi-fidelity simulations. The engineer will also be responsible for designing high-power-density PCBA, ensuring EMI/EMC compliance, and managing the transition from prototype to production. Additionally, the role involves lab validation, firmware and controls interface, and mentoring junior engineers. To qualify for this role, candidates must have an MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field, along with at least five years of hands-on R&D experience in motor drives, BLDC/PMSM controllers, or high-power-density power electronics. Proficiency in MOSFET commutation design, simulation tools like LTspice, PLECS, or Simulink, and PCB design using Altium are essential. Fluency in English is required, and experience with GaN/SiC, safety-critical design, and applied control theory is a plus.
