Fixed Income Portfolio Manager

The role of a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager is within the Investment Management department, specifically in the Discretionary Portfolio Management team. This position is based in Switzerland, at Rothschild & Co Bank AG. The main day-to-day responsibilities include managing fixed income mandates and funds, participating in client portfolio reviews, and supporting business development activities. The role also involves building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including the Multi-Asset Portfolio Management Team, Client Advisors, and clients. Additionally, the portfolio manager will support the production of communication materials and actively contribute to the fixed income research process by generating investment ideas and aiding in portfolio construction decisions. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a university degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience in Fixed Income Portfolio Management, including experience in making investment decisions for individual fixed income instruments. Essential qualifications include a CFA, FRM, CAIIA, or similar designation. Strong analytical and research skills, particularly in economics, rates, and credit, are required. Candidates must also possess strong quantitative and modeling skills, a high degree of reliability and precision, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Excellent communication skills in German and English are mandatory, with French being an advantage. Proficiency in IT, including advanced Excel skills, is also necessary. Nice-to-have skills include experience with Avaloq and programming skills, such as Python.
