Hexagon's Infrastructure & Geospatial division creates measurement, positioning and mapping solutions that let data‑driven sectors capture, analyse and visualise the physical environment. The team in Heerbrugg is looking for a Product Engineer to help evolve its surveying software, supporting a global network of sales units and distribution partners. The daily work revolves around second‑level technical assistance, diagnosing intricate software problems and working hand‑in‑hand with developers to resolve them. You will test upcoming releases, verify new functionalities and ensure the product meets high‑quality standards. Managing incoming support tickets, you will rank them, forward critical issues to the right internal groups and produce clear, step‑by‑step guidance for customers both in writing and verbally. In addition, you will author and keep up‑to‑date documentation, knowledge‑base entries and troubleshooting manuals, while also delivering technical training sessions for internal staff and external users. Feedback gathered from the field will be turned into concrete product enhancements, and you will help shape requirements together with product managers, engineers and domain experts, bringing real‑world surveying practices into the development cycle. The role requires a solid academic background in Surveying, Geomatics, Geodesy, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline. Practical know‑how with surveying processes and tools such as GNSS receivers, total stations, laser scanners, imaging sensors or field‑software applications is essential. A genuine enthusiasm for software solutions aimed at surveying and construction professionals, combined with familiarity with office suites, CAD, GIS, BIM or comparable geospatial workflows, is expected. Candidates must possess an analytical mindset, be able to translate client needs into technical specifications, and communicate complex ideas clearly in English. A methodical, hands‑on approach, curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI‑driven tools, and strong teamwork skills for collaborating across international, cross‑functional groups are also required. Hexagon offers a full‑time contract with flexible annual working hours based on a 40‑hour week, a hybrid work model and a vacation scheme that grows with age (25 days from 20 years, 27 days from 40 years, 30 days from 50 years). The package includes a generous bonus, additional pension contributions, individual training opportunities, a range of discount programmes and regular employee events. The company promotes a flat hierarchy and an inclusive, respectful culture that encourages cooperation across borders. What the role asks for: - Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Geodesy, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering or related field - Hands‑on experience with GNSS, total stations, laser scanning, imaging sensors or field software - Proficiency with office, CAD, GIS, BIM or similar geospatial tools - Ability to analyse problems, understand client needs and technical specs - Clear, confident English communication, both written and spoken - Structured, solution‑focused work style with curiosity for AI‑driven tools - Strong teamwork orientation in international, cross‑functional environments - Willingness to engage with modern digital surveying solutions
