Senior/Staff Backend Engineer

The role of Senior/Staff Backend Engineer focuses on designing, building and delivering large‑scale, resilient distributed services that ingest billions of events, using modern cloud‑native techniques. On a daily basis you will implement and streamline Nexthink's data platform, accelerate data onboarding, and ship complex features that improve product, security, quality and performance. Collaboration is central: you will work closely with Product Management, architects and other engineering stakeholders to maintain high quality in a fast‑paced, iterative environment, participate in roadmap discussions, and handle L3 support together with the team. The position also expects active involvement in agile ceremonies and promotion of best practices to keep the team efficient. The core requirements include at least ten years of Java development experience in SaaS projects, solid expertise with micro‑services frameworks, and hands‑on experience with AWS or another cloud provider. You should be comfortable with unit, integration and end‑to‑end testing, possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, and be self‑motivated, well‑organized and solution‑oriented. Professional‑level English, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Additional, desirable skills are welcomed: familiarity with Micronaut or Spring, knowledge of Kafka or other messaging systems, experience with streaming services and distributed caches, and competence with CI/CD pipelines, Docker and Kubernetes.
