Principal Software Engineer - AI Poland

Snowflake, a company that enables enterprises and individuals to reach their full potential through a cloud‑based data platform, is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join its AI team in Poland. The role focuses on the AI Functions product, a core feature of the Cortex Platform that lets customers create AI‑driven ETL pipelines across all data sources. In this position you will create and evolve a portfolio of customer‑facing AI Functions, design highly scalable distributed components that run on Snowflake’s global infrastructure, and take part in technical and business decision‑making. Collaboration with engineers from other groups and product managers is essential to deliver cross‑functional initiatives, while you also ensure the services are ready for operation and meet reliability, availability, and performance commitments to users. The ideal candidate brings more than fourteen years of experience building and supporting large‑scale production systems, holds a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, and has a strong passion for AI/ML and natural‑language processing. Core computer‑science fundamentals are required, with fluency in Python or Java and solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems. Experience working across teams and with product managers is also mandatory. Additional strengths include familiarity with C, C++, or Go, which are considered valuable assets. Snowflake emphasizes a low‑ego, experimental culture that moves quickly, offering the chance to shape how AI is integrated into enterprise workflows while contributing to a rapidly expanding organization.
