Hyperscale Power is developing the power backbone for the AI data‑center era, delivering a full conversion chain from medium‑voltage AC down to 800 V DC with ultra‑compact SiC‑based modules. As an EMC / Compliance Engineer you will be responsible for shaping and executing the electromagnetic‑compatibility and regulatory‑compliance strategy for these power conversion systems, reporting directly to senior engineering leadership. Your daily work will involve planning and supervising both conducted and radiated EMC tests for AC/DC and DC/DC converters, in partnership with external test houses. You will define the certification roadmap for target markets, covering standards such as UL, CE, IEC 62477, IEEE 1547 and FCC/CISPR. Early in the design phase you will collaborate with Power Electronics, Firmware and Mechanical groups to embed shielding, filtering, grounding and layout measures, ensuring compliance is built in rather than added later. You will also manage relationships with certification bodies, coordinate test plans and submissions, prepare technical documentation, including test reports, risk assessments and declarations of conformity, and troubleshoot any EMC issues uncovered during testing. Finally, you will monitor evolving regulations and help scale compliance processes from prototype to volume production. To succeed in this role you must hold a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a comparable field, and you need at least five years of experience in EMC engineering or regulatory compliance, preferably within power electronics or medium‑voltage industrial equipment. A solid grasp of EMC standards (IEC 61000 series, CISPR, FCC Part 15) and product‑safety/grid‑tie standards (UL, IEC 62477, IEEE 1547) is required, as is hands‑on proficiency with EMC test equipment and pre‑compliance testing. Experience working with external test houses and certification bodies, together with strong documentation skills for test plans, reports and technical files, is essential. You must be fluent in English, both spoken and written, and be comfortable collaborating across hardware and firmware teams from the earliest design stages. German language ability is considered a plus but not mandatory. The position is based at the company's headquarters in Egg b. Zürich, Switzerland, with occasional travel to test facilities and certification agencies. The role offers equity, a competitive salary, and a hybrid work model with flexible hours, providing the chance to influence a breakthrough technology that already has a validated prototype and paying customers on the path to volume shipments. What the role asks for: - BSc or MSc in electrical engineering or comparable education - 5+ years EMC engineering or regulatory compliance experience - Strong knowledge of EMC standards (IEC 61000 series, CISPR, FCC Part 15) - Knowledge of product safety / grid‑tie standards (UL, IEC 62477, IEEE 1547) - Hands‑on experience with EMC test equipment and pre‑compliance testing - Experience coordinating with external test houses and certification bodies - Proven ability to produce test plans, reports and technical files for certification - Fluent English, spoken and written - German language skills (helpful but not required)
