The Junior Systems Test Engineer role is part of a team developing advanced optical communication technologies for space applications. The company is based in Lausanne and focuses on innovative space communication technologies. The engineer will work on testing, validating, and integrating components and subsystems used in free-space optical communication architectures. The main day-to-day responsibilities include executing predefined test campaigns in cleanroom and field environments, testing and validating components and subsystems, and performing validation against internal requirements and specifications. The engineer will also mount and configure test setups, operate advanced instrumentation, and contribute to test automation. Additionally, the role involves supporting subsystem integration activities, participating in the integration of various components, and contributing to cleanroom maintenance. Documentation and reporting are also key tasks, including writing detailed test reports and tracking validation against predefined requirements. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a Master's degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Swiss or EU-27 citizenship is required. Strong technical documentation and reporting skills, as well as a hands-on mindset and interest in experimental R&D environments, are crucial. A strong interest in space programs and high-throughput optical laser communication technologies is also necessary. Nice-to-have skills include previous industrial experience. The role is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, and offers a 100% employment rate with a salary range of CHF 90,000 – 110,000 gross/year, depending on the candidate's profile and experience. The work model is on-site with no remote work options. The position is expected to transition into a permanent role following a successful probation period.
