The Principal Scientist Application Technology role at Syngenta in Muenchwilen, Switzerland, involves driving the development and implementation of advanced application technologies. Collaboration with other teams and functions within PT&E and CPRD is essential, as is fostering a curious and courageous mindset in problem-solving and technical discussions. To excel in this role, candidates must have a university degree in agronomy, biology, agricultural engineering, or a related scientific or engineering discipline, with an MSc and/or PhD being preferred. Strong knowledge of crop protection application technologies, agronomy, and product-use practices is essential. The ability to define test strategies, interpret technical data, and provide clear recommendations to multidisciplinary teams is also required. Strong project management, analytical thinking, innovation, and communication skills are crucial, as is the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. A practical, customer-focused mindset with strong attention to safety and data quality is also necessary. Nice-to-have skills include proficiency in additional languages beyond English, which is a must. The working arrangement includes regular on-site presence for experimental work, with approximately 10% of working time potentially spent in a home office. Travel, especially within Europe, may be required.
