Pricing & Market Access Director

The Pricing & Market Access Director will steer the creation and rollout of market‑access plans for one or more Vertex products, while working closely with commercial and development teams. Vertex is a worldwide biotechnology firm that invests in scientific breakthroughs to deliver transformative medicines for serious, often genetic, diseases such as cystic fibrosis and sickle‑cell disease. In this role you will shape payer‑strategic plans that maximize value and access, lead the design of core pricing and access deliverables within the commercial framework, and ensure the payer perspective is consistently voiced to cross‑functional partners. You will collaborate to build compelling value propositions and integrated evidence packages, draw on deep market research and environmental data, feed financial forecasts, and drive the execution of pricing strategies—including local adaptation, tactical rollout, and business‑case development. Supporting capability‑building projects and thought‑leadership initiatives that keep the organization ahead of a rapidly changing payer landscape is also part of the remit. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, extensive hands‑on experience managing pricing and negotiations in the Swiss market, and a well‑established network of key local stakeholders. Candidates must think strategically, provide sound pricing recommendations, and have a track record of representing the company externally. Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, a solid grasp of pricing, reimbursement and HEOR principles, and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Fluency in English and German, together with strong interpersonal and relationship‑building capabilities across geographies, are also required. Vertex offers a flexible work model: you may choose a hybrid arrangement with up to two remote days per week or an on‑site schedule of five days, subject to the company’s Flex policy.
