Dietary Aide - Part Time- Casual - Trillium Court

As a Dietary Aide at Extendicare's Trillium Court Home in Kincardine, ON, you will be part of the culinary team, assisting with the plating and serving of meals, and maintaining cleanliness in serving areas and equipment. Your main responsibilities will include serving food to residents, maintaining proper serving temperatures, and assisting cooks with cleaning and preparing uncooked food. Additionally, you will participate in the proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, and adhere to established policies regarding quality assurance, safety, and infection control. Other tasks may include assembling nourishment carts, stocking unit kitchenettes, and attending facility meetings and in-service education programs. To qualify for this role, you must have a High School Diploma or higher. Previous experience in dietary services, institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality food service environments is an asset. You must be able to read and write in English and understand simple verbal and written instructions. Physical requirements include standing for long periods, moderate to heavy lifting, and working in a fast-paced environment. A current Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, is also required. Nice-to-have skills include a Diploma or Degree in nutrition or a Food Service Program.
