The Associate‑Director role in the Compliance department heads one of the Monitoring teams, reporting to the Head AML Transaction Monitoring‑Vice‑Director. The daily work involves leading the Compliance Monitoring team, coordinating tasks, managing performance and fostering professional development. You will supervise AML reviews of cryptocurrency, cash and securities transfers, ensuring timely analysis of higher‑risk transactions, and oversee the handling of sanctions alerts and the escalation of suspicious client investigations. In addition, you will drive the refinement of internal procedures by drafting, reviewing and updating policies, represent Compliance in key regulatory and strategic projects, and provide pragmatic guidance to senior management and front‑line units. The position requires a university degree in Law, Economics or a related discipline, together with at least five to seven years of experience in a compliance function within the financial sector and a proven record of leading teams. Fluency in English and French is mandatory, while German knowledge is considered a strong asset. A certification in Compliance Management is also valued. Candidates must demonstrate a strong analytical mindset, a structured approach, and excellent communication, interpersonal and decision‑making abilities. In addition to overseeing daily monitoring work, you will lead the recruitment cycle together with the Talent Acquisition Partner, ensuring new hires are properly introduced to the organisation, its culture and specific responsibilities. You will handle performance expectations, deliver regular feedback, conduct formal reviews and, when necessary, initiate under‑performance procedures in collaboration with senior management and HR. Conflict situations within the team are to be reported to senior management or the HR partner. By providing mentorship, coaching and clear development paths, you will help team members advance their careers while maintaining a motivated and cohesive unit. The fast‑paced growth of Swissquote provides ample space to experiment, take ownership and develop at a speed few organisations match. Whether you prefer high visibility or a quieter focus, the environment accommodates both styles. A relaxed dress code coexists with regular celebrations of achievements, big or small, fostering an atmosphere that largely manages itself. This setting supports continuous learning and personal advancement.
