Global Specialist Solution Architect - Lightwell

Red Hat's Technology Sales team is looking for a Global Specialist Solution Architect, Lightwell. In this role you will join Red Hat, a leader in open‑source enterprise solutions, and become the technical champion for Red Hat Lightwell, the company's trusted software‑supply‑chain platform. Your mission is to eliminate organisational, technical and competitive obstacles so customers can adopt Lightwell and close the vulnerability gap between their application code and the underlying platform. On a daily basis you will act as the technical lead on customer engagements, partnering with Account Solution Architects and Account Executives to drive Lightwell adoption in both new and existing accounts. You will tailor technical conversations for developers, build engineers, platform leaders and security teams, demonstrate the value of Red Hat's differentiated offering, and configure and run builds in the customer's own environment to prove the solution. Pre‑ and post‑sales activities such as deep‑dive workshops, proofs of concept, bake‑offs, internal sprints, hackathons and partner‑specific solutions also fall under your remit, as does feeding market feedback to the Lightwell business unit. The position requires at least six years of experience in software engineering, build/release engineering, platform engineering, DevSecOps or technical sales, with direct responsibility for software that carries real dependency and upgrade obligations. You must be comfortable working hands‑on in a customer or production build environment, configuring, executing and troubleshooting builds alongside engineers. Proficiency with at least two of Maven, pip and npm, together with a solid grasp of enterprise build configurations, registry and repository settings, and experience using enterprise artifact repositories and internal mirrors, is essential. A deep understanding of software‑supply‑chain security, including SLSA Level 3 requirements, SBOM formats such as SPDX and CycloneDX, artifact signing and verification (including HSM‑backed signing), VEX and CSAF, as well as provenance, typosquatting and dependency‑confusion threat models, is also required. Strong communication skills, the ability to deliver technical presentations, credibility with engineering audiences and willingness to travel are further must‑haves.
