Senior Technical Consultant SAP Development (Transportation Management)

Sika, a global specialty‑chemicals leader that supplies bonding, sealing, damping and protective systems for construction and industry, is looking for a senior technical consultant to strengthen its SAP Transportation Management (TM) landscape. The role focuses on advancing Sika’s digital transformation and strategic TM programmes while preserving the integrity of the company‑wide SAP template. The consultant will design, build and maintain custom TM components, covering freight units, freight orders and charge‑management logic. Typical tasks involve enhancing planning and execution screens, adding UI improvements through FPM, implementing BRF+‑driven charge calculations, configuring PPF actions, and modelling transport networks with custom logic. Additional duties include extending master‑data models via BOPF and CDS views, developing and tuning Fiori/UI5 applications and OData services, creating side‑by‑side extensions on the Business Technology Platform, reviewing functional designs, producing technical documentation and mentoring teammates. Candidates must bring more than ten years of proven SAP TM development experience, preferably with both embedded and decentralized setups, and hold a degree in business informatics, IT, engineering or a related field. Core expertise required includes ABAP, ABAP OO, BOPF, BRF+, Smart‑forms or Adobe Forms, as well as familiarity with Fiori, UI5, CDS, WebDynpro, EDI/IDoc, ABAP Proxy, OData, web services and workflow. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential; German language skills are a strong advantage. The role also expects comfort working in a globally distributed environment and an interest in emerging SAP Cloud Platform and edge technologies.
