Project – SAP Consultant: R/3 to S/4 Cutover, I-AEP, Infrastructure – Expansion and Renovation Projects – Bern

NAXCON GmbH, a leading German engineering and IT services firm with its headquarters in Weil am Rhein and additional sites such as Stuttgart, delivers sophisticated software, hardware and AI‑driven solutions to a broad client base. The company now seeks a Project SAP Consultant to steer the cut‑over phase of a migration from SAP R/3 to S/4HANA for a transportation‑sector client in Bern. The assignment runs full‑time from 1 October 2026 until 21 January 2027, with a possible extension, and requires on‑site presence two days a week. In this role you will own the creation and execution of cut‑over work packages for the I‑AEP business unit, ensuring that all procedures are complete, consistent and aligned with the overall program. You will lead the design of these procedures from concept through delivery, organise and run workshops with subject‑matter experts, and coordinate their contributions while securing the necessary resources. Monitoring timelines, milestones and dependencies against the S/4@AEP core team plan is essential, as is early escalation of any deviations. You will act as the primary liaison between the business unit and the broader cut‑over organisation, communicating decisions, risks and requirements back to the unit and guaranteeing their implementation. The position demands a solid academic background in computer science or business administration, preferably from a university or university of applied sciences. Candidates must bring at least ten years of hands‑on experience in large‑scale transformation projects, with a proven track record of leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives. Deep familiarity with SAP cut‑over processes, SAP Activate or comparable transformation frameworks, and a conceptual understanding of core SAP modules (such as PS, PM, MM, SD and FI) is required. Strong organisational, coordination and communication abilities, coupled with extensive risk‑ and escalation‑management expertise, are essential. Proficiency with project‑management tools like Jira, Confluence and MS Project, as well as fluency in German and good English, complete the core skill set. The assignment is based in Bern, with a hybrid work model that includes two on‑site days per week, and serves a client operating in the transportation sector. Applicants must hold an EU or Schengen passport, or possess dual citizenship that includes one of these jurisdictions.
