Sous Chef

The Sous Chef role at the 4* Court Yard Hotel in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, involves supporting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen and its team. The main responsibilities include assisting with the day-to-day kitchen operations, managing a team of 10-12 people, preparing food for various services, and ensuring high customer service standards. Additionally, the role involves staff training, menu development, ordering, and stocktakes. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to maintain the kitchen's smooth operation. This includes overseeing food preparation for breakfast, carvery, bar, restaurant, and functions. The role also requires a strong focus on customer service, staff development, and menu innovation. Financial aspects of kitchen management are desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience as a Sous Chef in the hotel industry or a busy food business. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Strong people management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to multi-task are crucial. The role requires flexibility to work early starts and late finishes, including weekends and public holidays.
