Senior OpenShift / Kubernetes Platform Engineer (Hybrid Cloud)

We are looking for a Senior OpenShift / Kubernetes Platform Engineer to join the Infrastructure & Operations team of a major bank. The role focuses on engineering, operating, automating and continuously improving the bank's enterprise‑grade OpenShift and Kubernetes platform that runs mission‑critical workloads across hybrid‑cloud environments. On a daily basis you will keep the platform stable, scalable and secure, handling the full lifecycle from installation through upgrades, patching and decommissioning. You will rotate on‑call duties within a four‑person team, design and run enterprise‑level Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters, and manage networking, storage, security and cluster services. Automation is central: you will build reusable IaC frameworks with Ansible, Terraform and GitOps, write scripts in Bash, Python or Go, and create GitOps workflows with Argo CD that feed into CI/CD pipelines. Security, compliance and observability will be woven into the platform, while you also provide architectural guidance for high availability and disaster recovery. Collaboration with infrastructure, security, networking, storage, cloud and application development groups is essential, as is translating technical concepts for both technical and non‑technical audiences. The position requires at least five years of experience in OpenShift/Kubernetes platform engineering within an enterprise setting. You must have deep knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, Linux administration and container technologies, as well as hands‑on work with OVN‑K, Ceph/CSI, Quay, Argo CD/GitOps, Velero, Ansible and Terraform. Proficiency in Bash, Python and Go scripting, together with solid practice in Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, CI/CD, Git and DevOps, is mandatory. Strong analytical abilities, clear communication and effective stakeholder management are also required. Preferred, but not mandatory, experience includes working with data‑centre infrastructure, networking, virtualization and public‑cloud integration. Familiarity with OAuth, token‑based authentication and REST API integrations is a plus, as is experience in Agile environments and contributing to technology strategy and platform modernization.
