Process Engineer – Suspended Minerals & Wet Processing

Omya, a global leader in industrial minerals and specialty materials, is seeking a Process Engineer specializing in Suspended Minerals & Wet Processing. The Process Engineer will lead process optimization and operational excellence initiatives. Daily tasks include designing and developing process flowsheets, specifying equipment, and commissioning new projects. The role involves supporting the scale-up of new products and technologies, analyzing operational performance, and driving digitalization through modern monitoring and analytics tools. Collaboration with various teams, including Operations, Engineering, and R&D, is crucial. The engineer will also develop engineering standards, provide technical leadership, and contribute to sustainability efforts. To excel in this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field such as Chemical Engineering or Minerals Processing. A minimum of five years of experience in chemical or mineral processing is required. Proficiency in wet processing operations and process scale-up is essential. Experience with CAPEX projects and commissioning activities is also necessary. Fluency in English and a willingness to travel internationally (approximately 30%) are mandatory. Nice-to-have skills include experience with advanced data analytics, digital process monitoring, and process modeling. Familiarity with machine learning applications, simulation software, and advanced process control is highly desirable.
