The Mandarin Oriental brand operates a collection of high‑end hotels, resorts and residences worldwide, renowned for delivering service rooted in Asian tradition while pushing the boundaries of luxury. At its historic Savoy property in Zurich's Old Town, the establishment features 80 rooms and suites, three distinct dining concepts and a newly refurbished ballroom for events. The team is now looking for a Chef de Rang Lounge to become part of the Food & Beverage area, reporting directly to the Bar Supervisor and the Restaurant Manager. In this position you will act as the primary point of contact for guests in the lounge and brasserie, offering knowledgeable recommendations and attentive service for both food and beverages. Daily duties include arranging and maintaining the necessary mise‑en‑place, keeping the service area tidy, and supporting senior staff with their routine tasks. You will also handle all cash‑register operations, ensuring accurate transaction recording, and contribute to the planning and execution of special events while adhering strictly to hygiene standards set by HACCP. The ideal candidate must have completed a vocational apprenticeship in hospitality or catering and possess the legal right to work in Switzerland. Fluency in German and English at a high level is essential, as is the ability to communicate clearly with guests, whether addressing compliments or complaints. A polished appearance, courteous manners and a charismatic, positive demeanor are required, together with the flexibility to work weekends, holidays and under demanding conditions. Additional assets include basic computer literacy and familiarity with the Infrasys point‑of‑sale system as well as the SevenRooms reservation platform. Proficiency in any extra language is considered a plus. The role is based in the vibrant centre of Zurich, close to business districts, cultural attractions and Lake Zurich, offering a dynamic environment within a collaborative, high‑performing team.
