Cambridge Associates is a global investment firm that advises endowments, foundations, pension plans and ultra‑high‑net‑worth private clients on building and managing custom portfolios. The Managing Director, Business Development for the Geneva region will lead the firm’s commercial expansion across French‑speaking Switzerland, shaping strategy, generating a high‑quality pipeline and strengthening market presence. In this senior role you will design and execute the business‑development plan for Geneva and the broader Swiss market, while also supporting selected EMEA initiatives. Daily activities include direct outreach to senior decision‑makers, organising and attending conferences and local events, and cultivating relationships with centres of influence such as consultants, private banks, lawyers and trustees. You will identify and pursue opportunities with family offices, private clients, foundations, pensions and other institutional investors, develop targeted prospect plans, and maintain disciplined tracking of each opportunity’s stage, timing and revenue potential. Collaboration with investment, client‑solutions and marketing teams will be essential to tailor messaging and investment strategies to regional needs, and you will keep senior leadership informed with regular market insights and CRM updates. The position requires a solid academic foundation and extensive experience. Candidates must hold at least a bachelor’s degree and bring a minimum of 15 years in business development, investment consulting, wealth management or a related field. A proven ability to originate and convert new business, coupled with a measurable sales pipeline, is essential. Deep knowledge of the Swiss market—particularly Geneva and the French‑speaking cantons—and an established network of client and referral contacts are critical. Fluency in both English and French is mandatory, as is the capacity to communicate complex investment concepts clearly. Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, together with sound commercial judgment, are required to operate effectively within Cambridge Associates’ matrixed environment. The role also demands willingness to travel throughout the region and beyond as needed. While the core requirements are non‑negotiable, the firm values additional qualifications. An advanced degree or professional credential such as an MBA or CFA is preferred, as is experience working with family offices, private clients, foundations, pensions and other institutional investors. Proficiency in other regional languages is a plus. Based in Geneva, the role offers the chance to influence broader Swiss leadership and potentially join the executive committee or management board over time. Cambridge Associates promotes an inclusive, collaborative culture and supports reasonable accommodations throughout the recruitment process. What the role asks for: - Bachelor’s degree. - Minimum 15 years business development or related experience. - Proven record of originating and converting new business opportunities. - Strong knowledge of Swiss market, especially Geneva and French‑speaking Switzerland. - Established relationships with client and referral networks in Switzerland. - Fluency in English and French. - Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills and commercial judgment. - Willingness to travel regionally and beyond as needed.
