Azure Cloud Engineer (English speaking)

The role is an Azure Cloud Engineer at a leading consulting company in Zurich. The company is involved in a long-term internal cloud engineering project. The main responsibilities include ensuring the stability, security, and reliable operation of Azure cloud platforms, including a Swiss Sovereign Cloud environment. This involves designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure infrastructure and cloud services. The engineer will develop and enhance Infrastructure as Code solutions using Bicep and build and improve cloud automation using PowerShell, Python, and Ansible. Additionally, the role includes supporting cloud operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous service improvement. The engineer will also integrate business applications into Azure cloud environments and support hybrid cloud infrastructures across Windows and Linux environments. The engineer will manage assigned technical workstreams independently and collaborate with engineering teams, application owners, and other stakeholders. The role also involves promoting automation, operational excellence, and Azure cloud engineering best practices. The must-have requirements include several years of experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer, Azure Infrastructure Engineer, or in a comparable role. Strong hands-on experience with Azure administration and platform engineering is essential. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud services, Azure DevOps, Bicep, Ansible, PowerShell, and Python is required. Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation, as well as a strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems, is necessary. Good knowledge of Azure networking concepts and experience with hybrid cloud environments are also required. Strong troubleshooting and operational support capabilities, the ability to independently take ownership of technical initiatives, and strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential. Fluent English skills are a must. Nice-to-have skills include experience with hybrid cloud environments. The location is Zurich, and the team is part of a leading consulting company.
