(Associate) Principal Scientist Bioanalytics 80-100%

The position is for a (Associate) Principal Scientist Bioanalytics at Lonza, located in Basel, Switzerland. Lonza develops drug products and supports customers in bringing new therapies to patients, operating across more than 30 sites worldwide. In this role you will steer and coordinate bio‑analytical development projects for drug candidates in pre‑clinical stages. You are responsible for delivering work packages on schedule, which includes generating analytical data, preparing reports, and overseeing pre‑validation, non‑GMP batch release and stability studies. You will act as the subject‑matter expert in internal and client meetings, manage risk proactively, and keep planning tools up to date for relevant stakeholders. The employer requires a doctoral degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, analytical science or a comparable life‑science discipline, or equivalent experience. Proven background in the bio‑pharmaceutical sector, especially using potency assays for modalities such as monoclonal, bispecific or trispecific antibodies, enzymes, peptides, recombinant proteins or ADCs, is essential. You must have strong capabilities in designing, optimizing, transferring and troubleshooting cell‑based assays, as well as solid knowledge of techniques like mammalian cell culture, ELISA, enzyme assays and SPR. Familiarity with ICH Q14 and ICH Q2 analytical method guidelines and excellent English communication skills are also mandatory.
