Procurement Director - Global 3rd Party Actives Category

FMC Agricultural Solutions, one of the world’s six largest crop‑protection manufacturers, is looking for a Procurement Director to lead the Global 3rd Party Actives category. The position reports to the Chief Procurement Officer and heads a worldwide team that shapes sourcing for third‑party active ingredients supporting FMC’s mixtures, private‑label lines, buy‑sell products and technical collaborations. The director will redesign partnership models, choose between make, buy or partner options, and align contracts with market benchmarks. Responsibilities include crafting and rolling out category strategies for new launches and existing portfolios, driving cost‑reduction roadmaps, and performing should‑cost and total‑ownership analyses. The role also oversees supplier performance, builds dual‑sourcing and contingency plans, collaborates with technical and manufacturing groups on cost and capacity alignment, and translates market intelligence into negotiation tactics. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) and bring at least ten years of experience in a regulated setting, ideally within crop‑protection or agricultural products, with a proven record of negotiating large, complex supply agreements. Required skills include strategic sourcing, project management, strong negotiation and conflict‑resolution abilities, and the capacity to influence cross‑functional teams without direct authority. Preferred attributes are exposure to other procurement categories, experience in organizational transformation, and a background working in multinational, multicultural environments.
