The Global Medical Director – Cardiometabolic will guide the company’s worldwide medical direction for the cardiometabolic portfolio, working closely with colleagues across functions to shape both near‑term actions and longer‑range plans. In daily work, the leader will steer the medical agenda for the assigned therapeutic area, turn scientific insights into patient‑focused initiatives, and spot gaps that could be addressed through innovation or licensing. Responsibilities include drafting therapeutic‑area plans that blend research priorities, publication tactics, real‑world evidence efforts and study designs, as well as preparing target product profiles together with cross‑functional teams. The role also oversees global medical‑affairs research, chairs the scientific review committee for such projects, and validates clinical activities proposed by development groups. Additional duties involve creating high‑quality digital content for health‑care professionals and patients, nurturing relationships with key opinion leaders and scientific societies, participating in product‑safety oversight, contributing to risk‑management and labeling discussions, and ensuring all activities meet regulatory standards.
