Cloud Engineer - Google Cloud Platform

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Cloud Engineer include designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud solutions on GCP. This involves managing and optimizing GCP services to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance. The role also requires deploying and supporting containerized applications using Kubernetes, as well as developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. Collaboration with development, architecture, and security teams is essential to deliver cloud-native solutions and implement cloud security best practices. Additionally, the engineer will troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure and platform-related issues, contributing to the continuous improvement of cloud environments and deployment processes. To qualify for this role, candidates must have proven hands-on experience with GCP, particularly with core GCP services like Cloud SQL. Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies, as well as solid proficiency in Terraform and IaC methodologies, is required. A good understanding of cloud security principles and compliance requirements, including PCI standards, is also necessary. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, are crucial. Nice-to-have skills include Google Cloud certifications and experience working in banking, financial services, or other regulated environments. Knowledge of cloud monitoring, logging, and observability solutions is also beneficial. The role is based in Italy, where Italian and English language skills are required.
