Head of Growth, Margin Trading

Payward, the parent of Kraken and several other fintech brands, runs one of the most modern, globally‑accessible financial‑infrastructure platforms. Kraken, its flagship crypto exchange, serves more than 10 million retail and institutional users with spot, margin, futures, staking and OTC services. The opening is for a Head of Growth focused on margin trading, the top‑earning feature of Kraken Pro, with responsibility and authority comparable to a C‑suite leader for that business line. In this role you will design and launch the acquisition plan for high‑net‑worth individual traders, pulling them from rival platforms. You will work hand‑in‑hand with the VIP team to define how premium traders are sourced, onboarded and activated, while coordinating performance‑marketing, organic, creative and other internal resources to push margin‑trading volume. You will craft positioning, messaging and offers that appeal to sophisticated, high‑volume participants, set growth targets, and own the full funnel from lead generation through funded accounts to active margin traders. Rapid experimentation across channels, programs and incentives will be a core activity, with successful tactics scaled quickly, and trader insights fed back to product to shape the margin roadmap. The position requires at least four years of experience in growth, product marketing or VIP/high‑value customer acquisition, together with a demonstrable record of attracting high‑net‑worth traders or users in crypto, trading, gaming or gambling. Candidates must have a history of winning customers away from competitors and turning them into long‑term, high‑value users. The ability to lead cross‑functional groups without formal authority, a deep understanding of leveraged and margin trading, and a data‑driven mindset that owns funnel metrics, revenue impact and acquisition ROI are essential. The role also calls for a high‑agency, scrappy approach, taking full ownership, moving fast and delivering results without waiting for perfect conditions, and clear communication skills that align marketing, VIP, product and leadership teams. Preferred attributes include an existing network among high‑net‑worth traders, market makers or VIP communities, experience building VIP or "whale" acquisition programmes from the ground up, and a background in regulated financial products or iGaming where strict compliance is required. The position is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports, and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
