As Global Medical Director, Dravet Syndrome Medical Education Lead at Biogen, you will steer the scientific and educational vision for a groundbreaking therapy in Dravet Syndrome. Biogen's Global Dravet Medical team focuses on rare neurological diseases, aiming to translate novel treatments into everyday clinical practice and improve patient outcomes worldwide. In this position you will design and implement the long‑term global medical‑education roadmap, creating programmes that match scientific advances, clinical needs and patient‑care priorities across regions. You will define educational focus points along the treatment journey, coordinate symposia, congress activities and training sessions, and ensure that content aligns with evidence generation and regulatory standards. You will also provide medical review for publications, shape scientific narratives, engage key opinion leaders and health‑care institutions, and embed digital and modern teaching methods while tracking impact metrics such as physician engagement and practice change. The role requires an advanced scientific or clinical degree (MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent) and at least ten years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, including work in Medical Affairs, Medical Education or Clinical Development. Candidates must have a background in rare diseases, ideally Dravet Syndrome, plus a proven record of building and delivering evidence‑based education programmes. Experience in regional or global Medical Affairs environments, a solid grasp of scientific communications, publication processes and medical‑governance rules, and familiarity with worldwide compliance requirements are essential. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and the ability to collaborate across matrixed, cross‑functional teams are also mandatory. The position calls for a demonstrated use of digital tools to create innovative educational experiences. Additional assets include experience supporting pre‑launch, launch and product‑life‑cycle activities, work with transformative modalities such as gene, RNA‑based or antisense therapies, and the ability to craft education strategies for highly specialised physician groups. Experience with biomarkers, precision‑medicine approaches, evidence‑generation programmes, leading global or multi‑regional education initiatives, and deep knowledge of epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders and genetics are considered valuable.
