Compliance Platform Engineer

Phoeniqs is seeking a Compliance Platform Engineer to join their Engineering organization, where the company focuses on building solutions that are secure, compliant by design, automated, and continuously verifiable. The role is responsible for ensuring that regulatory requirements and certification frameworks are translated into concrete technical capabilities embedded within the platform, systems, and engineering processes. The main day-to-day responsibilities involve interpreting and operationalizing requirements from various regulatory frameworks, such as GDPR, Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, and ISO 27001, and translating these into technical controls, architecture patterns, and platform-level security and compliance capabilities. The role also involves designing and implementing compliance controls, ensuring they are technically enforced, measurable, automated, and continuously validated. To be considered for this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in security engineering, GRC engineering, or technical compliance roles. They must also have a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and EU AI Act, as well as experience in system and infrastructure security, control implementation, and modern engineering environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong hands-on mindset, with a focus on implementation, automation, and measurable outcomes, and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical domains. Additionally, experience with ENS, Spanish Esquema Nacional de Seguridad, and German Digital Services Act is a plus, as well as a willingness to specialize in EU AI Act.
