Founded in 2015 by engineers from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), TreaTech is developing a patented catalytic hydrothermal gasification technology. This technology converts organic waste into valuable resources such as renewable gas, clean water, and recoverable minerals. The company is currently seeking a Process Engineer to play a key role in the design, construction, and commissioning of their next unit. The Process Engineer will lead process engineering activities for the delivery of TreaTech's next units. To qualify for this role, candidates must have an engineering degree or PhD in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. They should have 5 to 10 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical, energy, or environmental sectors. Significant experience in industrial process design, equipment sizing and specification, and industrial or pilot-scale project execution is required. A good understanding of high-pressure/high-temperature processes, pressure equipment, corrosion, materials selection, and mechanical constraints is also necessary. Knowledge of process safety analyses such as HAZOP and ATEX, as well as commissioning and start-up of industrial units, is essential. The ability to interact effectively with equipment suppliers, engineering partners, and multidisciplinary internal teams is crucial. Nice-to-have skills include a pragmatic and hands-on mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously, proactively, and accountably. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple interfaces are also valuable. A strong interest in innovative technologies and industrial scale-up is beneficial.
