Quality control Laboratory Assistant (contingent worker)

A contingent Quality Control Laboratory Assistant is needed to join a QC laboratory that operates under current GMP standards. The position focuses on supporting the laboratory’s routine functions, helping to keep the environment compliant and efficient. Daily duties involve handling chemical reagent inventories, placing orders, and tracking supplies needed for raw material release, packaging checks, final product verification and stability testing. The role also requires carrying out a range of analytical measurements such as infrared spectroscopy, pH, conductivity, total organic carbon, titration and precise weighing. Additional tasks include preparing buffers, managing waste, cleaning glassware, overseeing consumable stock, assisting with equipment calibration and maintenance, maintaining archives, drafting and reviewing SOPs, and acting as a subject‑matter expert for specific assay areas. Occasionally, the assistant may be asked to take on project work or special assignments. Applicants must hold a Federal Certificate of Capacity or a Maturity diploma with chemistry or biology emphasis, and possess one to two years of experience in a GMP‑regulated setting. A solid grasp of cGMP principles, the ability to interpret related regulations, and competent writing skills are essential. Fluency in both English and French, proficiency with standard office software, and a collaborative mindset are also required. Familiarity with common laboratory software, experience in equipment commissioning, and a willingness to support new reagent selection are considered advantageous.
