Director, Global Service Parts Planning & Logistics

BD, one of the world’s largest medical‑technology firms, is looking for a Director to steer its Global Service Parts Planning & Logistics function. The role sits at the heart of BD’s purpose‑driven effort to advance health, overseeing how billions of MedTech products are supported after sale through a coordinated global network. In this position you will direct worldwide spare‑parts demand planning, set inventory policies and manage the lifecycle of parts across field stock, depots and partner sites. You will shape the logistics and distribution framework, decide stocking strategies by location and criticality, and guide new‑product introductions, engineering changes and end‑of‑life transitions to minimise disruption. Responsibilities also include governing third‑party logistics and repair partners, standardising processes across regions, translating service demand into forecasting and capacity plans, and supervising depot repair operations to meet quality, cost and turnaround targets. Building a high‑performing team and establishing KPI‑driven operating rhythms are central to the role. Candidates must bring more than ten years of experience in service‑parts planning, aftermarket logistics, depot repair or related service operations, with a proven record of leading global inventory optimisation, distribution strategy and partner governance. Experience in leading cross‑functional and external teams within a complex, matrixed environment is essential, as is strong business and financial acumen demonstrated through transformation and continuous‑improvement initiatives. The ideal leader combines a global service‑operations mindset with data‑driven, outcome‑focused decision‑making, and excels at influencing and communicating across functions and senior stakeholders. Flexibility to work across global business hours, occasional after‑hours support and up to 20 % international travel are required.
