Data Architect-Enterprise Data Catalogue Lead (m/w/d)

The Data Architect‑Enterprise Data Catalogue Lead will join Liebherr‑International AG to design, launch and run the Group's Enterprise Data Catalogue. The role sits within Process Management / Project Management, reports to the Global Data Architect and works closely with Data Domain Architects, Corporate Data Governance and business representatives to make the catalogue the trusted source for data‑asset information across the multinational organisation. On a daily basis the incumbent will steer the rollout of the catalogue throughout the heterogeneous system landscape, champion its adoption among business and IT teams and take ownership of its operation once live. Core tasks include configuring metadata ingestion, data classification and lineage for multiple domains, defining the operating model for onboarding new sources, managing releases and upgrades, and continuously improving data quality. The role also creates and maintains conceptual and logical data models using corporate templates such as LeanIX, documents system‑agnostic data definitions and supports broader data‑governance initiatives. The position requires a university degree in Information Technology, Business Informatics, Data Management or a comparable field, together with at least five years of experience in data architecture or data governance. Candidates must have hands‑on experience implementing and operating a data‑catalogue solution (for example Collibra, Alation, Atlan, Microsoft Purview, OpenMetadata or DataHub), a proven track record of leading complex, cross‑functional projects, solid expertise in metadata management, classification and lineage, and a good grasp of data‑modelling techniques and governance principles. Fluency in English is mandatory. Liebherr offers a secure, full‑time contract with flexible working hours, hybrid work options and opportunities for further training. Knowledge of German or French, experience in manufacturing or heavy‑equipment environments, familiarity with SAP data models, graph‑based metadata, LeanIX, and broader SQL/NoSQL database knowledge are considered advantageous.
