Benchling is an AI‑driven platform that modernises biotech research by embedding structured data and machine‑learning tools into laboratory workflows. The company serves more than 200,000 scientists worldwide, including leading biopharma organisations. The open position is for a Solution Consultant (SC), a pre‑sales specialist who guides Benchling's largest customers and prospects through the design and adoption of the platform. The SC works closely with account executives, professional services, and product leaders to shape account strategies and plan customer engagements. Daily tasks involve gathering detailed scientific and IT requirements, mapping them to Benchling's capabilities, and building data models that reflect the prospect's R&D processes. The consultant then delivers persuasive demos, addresses objections, and positions Benchling against alternative solutions, including in‑house builds. Ongoing collaboration with product management supplies market feedback that influences the product roadmap, while the SC also creates reusable content and mentors junior consultants. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in a life‑science discipline such as biology, molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, bioengineering, or chemistry, and have at least four years of professional experience, preferably in a customer‑facing capacity. Hands‑on experience in antibody discovery or engineering, either as a bench scientist or in a technical support role, is required. Applicants need proven ability to model scientific data and translate it into solution designs. Prior exposure to scientific or informatics software, LIMS, ELN, or similar, is expected. Fluency in English is mandatory; additional fluency in German or French is advantageous. Travel to client sites will account for roughly a quarter of the work week. Desirable but not essential qualifications include familiarity with antibody‑engineering software and a track record of demonstrating scientific software in a pre‑sales environment. Experience supporting research instruments, reagents, or related software further strengthens an application. The role demands an agile mindset that quickly adopts new engagement processes and the confidence to act as a trusted advisor to scientific buyers. Benchling offers a hybrid work model with three days per week on‑site, a market‑based salary, and a comprehensive benefits package aligned with regional standards. What the role asks for: - Master's degree in Life Science field - Minimum 4 years professional experience - Hands‑on antibody discovery or engineering experience - Ability to model scientific data for solutions - Experience with LIMS, ELN or similar software - Fluency in English - Willingness to travel 25‑30% of time - Fluency in German or French (nice-to-have)
