The BPM & Automation Engineer role at adesso Schweiz AG focuses on turning business processes into efficient, automated solutions. adesso combines AI expertise, engineering excellence and deep industry knowledge to deliver future‑proof products that improve customers' daily lives. The team values mutual support, continuous learning and a culture of trust, appreciation and shared success. In this position you will analyse existing business processes, spot optimisation opportunities and model them with BPMN 2.0, optionally using DMN or CMMN. You will design, configure and develop workflows on platforms such as Flowable or Camunda, implement process logic, forms, business rules and service tasks, and integrate the solutions with existing applications via REST APIs and other web services. Daily work also includes handling relational‑database requirements with SQL, collaborating with business stakeholders, architects and development teams, writing clean, testable code, and contributing to testing, deployment, documentation and ongoing support within Agile delivery teams. The role requires solid technical foundations: practical knowledge of BPMN 2.0, proven experience in process analysis and workflow modelling, and a strong grasp of RESTful web services together with JSON or XML handling. You must be comfortable working with SQL and relational databases and be familiar with a version‑control system such as Git. A university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Software Engineering or a comparable field, or equivalent professional training, is essential, as is full professional proficiency in both French and English. The ability to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and to work confidently with both technical and business stakeholders is also mandatory. Additional assets that are valued but not required include at least two years of professional experience in BPM, workflow automation or related areas, and hands‑on experience with Java and Spring Boot. Familiarity with platforms like Flowable, Camunda, Appian or UiPath, knowledge of modern web technologies, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and an interest in hyper‑automation or AI‑supported process automation are considered nice‑to‑have. The position offers a collaborative environment, flexible part‑time options (80‑100 %), extensive training (over 400 courses), team events and a range of corporate benefits. What the role asks for: - Good practical knowledge of BPMN 2.0 - Experience with process analysis and workflow modelling - Solid understanding of RESTful web services (JSON/XML) - Practical experience with SQL and relational databases - Full professional proficiency in French and English - Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or related discipline - 2 years experience in BPM or workflow automation (nice to have) - Experience with Java and Spring Boot (nice to have)
