Monte Rosa Therapeutics is on the hunt for a skilled DEL Scientist to boost their DNA-Encoded Library (DEL) platform. The company focuses on innovative drug discovery, leveraging advanced technologies to create high-quality chemical starting points for challenging targets. The DEL Scientist will spend their days designing and refining next-generation DEL libraries. They will develop new encoding, barcoding, and library design strategies, and evaluate novel DNA-compatible chemistries. The role involves optimizing selection methodologies, workflows, and enrichment strategies, as well as refining NGS decoding, hit-calling, and hit-deconvolution approaches. Collaboration with internal and external partners, including the Data Science team, is crucial for driving innovation in hit identification and validation. To excel in this role, candidates must have a PhD in a relevant field such as Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, or Synthetic Chemistry. Experience with DEL library technology, particularly in library design, encoding strategies, and affinity-selection technologies, is essential. Knowledge of DNA-compatible chemistry and library construction principles, as well as expertise in NGS-based decoding and data interpretation, is required. Publications, patents, or demonstrated innovation in DEL technology are highly valued. Nice to have are experience in preclinical drug discovery, SAR analysis, and hit validation, as well as familiarity with tools like Spotfire, Prism, SciFinder, Reaxys, and PubMed. Knowledge of orthogonal hit-validation approaches, such as SPR/Biacore, FP, ELISA, and enzymatic assays, is a plus. The role offers the opportunity to work with emerging DEL modalities and next-generation screening technologies, making it an exciting prospect for those passionate about advancing DEL technologies. The position is based in a collaborative environment, with opportunities for growth and innovation. The contract is for 12 months, providing a focused period to make significant contributions to the DEL platform. What the role asks for: - PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry - Experience in DNA-encoded library technology - Strong background in DEL library design, encoding strategies, and affinity-selection technologies - Knowledge of DNA-compatible chemistry and library construction principles - Expertise in NGS-based decoding and data interpretation - Publications, patents, or demonstrated innovation in DEL technology - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
