Director, API External Manufacturing Lead

Madrigal, a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing new treatments for metabolic‑dysfunction associated steatohepatitis, is looking for a Director, API External Manufacturing Lead. The role anchors the company’s external API supply chain, ensuring continuity and performance across contract manufacturing organizations while supporting the broader mission to combat MASH. Day‑to‑day duties involve overseeing API supply, aligning demand with capacity, lead times and inventory, and maintaining governance routines with manufacturing sites. The leader drives performance monitoring, creates scorecards and capacity reviews, and manages escalation of constraints such as capacity shortages, material or quality events, coordinating recovery actions and communicating options and timelines. Collaboration with CMC, MSAT and Quality teams is required to handle deviations, investigations, changes and tech transfers, keeping planning assumptions and documentation up to date and producing readiness trackers and cross‑functional dependency maps. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, science or a related field, and bring 12‑15 years of experience in API supply or manufacturing planning and performance management, including issue triage and cross‑functional escalation leadership.
