The role is for a Scientist specializing in single-cell and spatial omics technologies. The company, Proclinical, is a life sciences recruiter focused on pharmaceutical innovation. They are seeking a candidate to join a dynamic team in Basel, Switzerland, to drive innovation in preclinical and translational research. The main day-to-day responsibilities include creating and implementing innovative protocols, particularly in single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial multimodal applications, and multi-omics approaches. The Scientist will perform experiments independently, analyze data, and generate high-quality reports. They will ensure that data generation adheres to FAIR principles and collaborate with wet lab and bioinformatics teams to interpret complex sequencing datasets. Additionally, the role involves presenting protocols and results to internal stakeholders. The must-have requirements include an advanced degree in fields such as Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field. Hands-on experience with advanced molecular technologies, particularly Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows, is essential. Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR, and NGS library preparation, is also required. Experience working with challenging clinical sample types, such as FFPE tissue, primary tumor cells, and low-input samples, is necessary. The candidate must have the right to work in the location or hold an EU passport. Nice-to-have skills include experience with single-cell and spatial transcriptomics platforms.
