The role of Automation Engineer - GMP Pharma & Biotech at agap2 involves working on the design, implementation, and improvement of automation systems in GMP-regulated environments. agap2 is a European engineering and operational consulting group, specializing in various sectors including Pharma, Biotechnology, and Medical Devices. The main day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions in GMP environments. This involves configuring and programming systems such as PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, or MES. The role also includes supporting activities like FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification, and validation. Troubleshooting automation, control, and communication issues is a key part of the job, as is developing and improving automation standards, procedures, and technical documentation. Additionally, the engineer will support batch control, recipe management, data integrity, and process monitoring activities, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and client stakeholders. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Industrial IT, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life science environment is required. Professional experience with at least one of the following is necessary: PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, MES, industrial automation, or OT networks. Knowledge of automation systems and industrial communication technologies is essential. Nice-to-have skills include experience with platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Emerson DeltaV, or Syncade. Understanding of GMP, GAMP 5, data integrity, and qualification/validation principles is also beneficial. The role is based in Switzerland, offering a stable and sustainable job with access to a dynamic, committed team.
